Tips & Tricks from the Simio Team

The innovative and powerful all-new Scenario Generator for Experiments (learn more below)

In Simio Sprint 17.266, a new feature titled “Scenario Generator” was released. In any Experiment that is created inside the application, users will have a selectable option along the top ribbon.

Tips and Tricks: Step 1 Picture

With Scenario Generator, users are given an efficient way to create a full factorial Experiment for a model based on the number of controls and the subsequent levels of each control.

In the “AirportTerminal” model contained within Simio’s set of Examples, Scenario Generator can be used to setup an experiment for the four different preconfigured Controls.

For each Control, uses can specify whether or not to include a Control in the Experiment (the Control will revert to the Default Value if not included), and for every Control that is included, the Minimum Value, Maximum Value, and # of Levels can all be specified and prepared for generation. On the bottom of the console, Scenario Generator will also preview the potential maximum number of scenarios to be generated, subject to any Experimental constraints that may be posed.

Tips and Tricks: Step 2 Picture

What results is a full set of Scenarios prepared to be executed. Consider using Scenario Generator for your Design of Experiments work today!
